Where is the individuality & personality of music?

In the 80s & 90s music was still a work of art. Created by artists who gave free play to their feelings and let their personal taste and their learned know-how flow into it. What has changed now?

If you listen to the current (German) charts and radio hits you will always find the same pattern. Copy & Paste has simplified and accelerated some things, but also makes most of it sound the same or similar. Similar lyrics, similar themes, similar melodies and the same instruments. We are looking in vain for the "human touch" in today's hits. Hardly anyone seems to dare to do something or at least try to sound different. Many artists prefer to stay in the comfort zone and create what works well and has already brought the desired success the last time.

Yannik from laut.de speaks from the soul! His article "Why does everything sound the same?" is absolutely worth reading and also lists the monotony of German pop music, even with examples. Check out his (german!) article

We would definitely like to encourage all musicians to do so: DARE! Do it differently, play around, try it out! Through "Happy Accidents" you will reach your goal and create your own signature sound sooner than if you stay in the "safe zone" = #boring

That's what drives us every day. It's our mission to give you the opportunity to sound different through special, new tools and workflows - or like

comic artist Scott Adams once said: "Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep."
